October 1, 2019

Abstract:

When talking about abortion it is a very delicate subject to talk about. There are many reasons why such as considering the person’s health, their beliefs, and the effect that their family has on their say. Through out this essay their was a conducted interview whether the person supports abortion or not. The task for this assignment is to see how one’s cultural background shapes one’s perspective and worldview. Which in this case is abortion and how her culture has an influence on her say. Throughout this essay their various questions being asked to the interviewee and after each response it shows how certain things does affect her answer.

It’s already about to be 3:50PM and I remember that I have an interview with a friend at a local public library at 4:30PM. Instead of rushing I was calm and but overall I knew that I will get to my local library on time since its only 6 blocks away but I didn’t want to disappoint my friend or be there late. As soon I step out of my building the first thing I had on my mind was to get there as fast as possible and just to make sure I was on time I look at my phone to check the time. As I expected, only 15 minutes to get to the library so I started speed walking and with all the loud honking from cars I was getting more anxious. I was only two more blocks away from the library and as I look to my left to the other street I see someone waving at me and my first reaction is to wave back not knowing who it is. Looking more carefully its my friend that I was going to be interviewing, I’m guessing we both are on time and as the interviewer I was the one nervous even though I am the one asking the questions.

As soon as we get up to the second floor ,we both quietly sit down on the rug and laughing because it took us a while to find a place but while doing that I’m also taking out my phone for recording purpose and a notebook while the pen in my flannel pocket. All you can see is that she is ready for the questions to be asked to her. I had my paper in my hand while the pen still in my pocket and quietly I ask her so I won’t disrupt the others in the library. My first question to you is, “Are you pro choice or pro life? Is there anything that is making you choose the choice?”while she is looking down at the rug, I take out my pen out my pocket and get my notebook since its obvious she is thinking. Giving her a few more seconds she tells me “ I am Pro-Choice and yes many things does influence my answer. The reason why I say that is because everyone is different and have their own beliefs but everyone should have their own say” and I am trying to keep up with my phone recording the interview and also writing down some important things on my notebook. It leads up to my next question to her “Do you support birth control?” she says “Yes I do support birth control for many reasons and I also believe that birth control should be more accessible. After doing some research of my own birth control prevents pregnancy and it also reduce menstrual pain. The main reason why I support birth control is because it can reduce teen birth rate and that will also allow for any women to accomplish her goals such academic wise and career”, while looking at the clock I tried to speed up a bit since the library usually closes early and I speed up with the next questions to her. “Do you think the women should have all the rights of having an abortion?”, taking a deep breath in she says “Yes and no, there are many reasons why I say that and that’s because the mother shouldn’t have all the pressure on her but should be receiving help from her family. This will help her to decide and make a choice” and as the interviewer I agree with her because any mother should be receiving help because she is making a huge decision that will impact her life. Overall I can tell that she believes that the mother has the biggest say in this decision since it’s her body and I don’t disagree at all because it is the mother who is keeping the baby for nine months so the mother should make this decision.

As the interview coming to an end, while listening to my interviewer and having my own thoughts in my head. Abortion is a sensitive topic, and to choose between to be pro-life or pro-choice is hard because we dont know what it is to be in a mothers shoes. Abortion is a highly

A controversial issue that is affecting our society. People feel just feel sympathy that abortion is evil because it is killing an unborn child. On the other hand, people believe it is a woman’s constitutional right to choose, but to any mother who is planning on having an abortion its is a mother’s decision to choose what’s best for her.
